Spirit & Word Dependence

At Healing Church, we affirm our profound dependence on the Holy Spirit and the Truth of God's Word. We recognize that without the Holy Spirit's power and the illumination of Scripture, believers cannot effectively withstand spiritual warfare, worldly temptations, and the inherent sinfulness that draws us away from God's will.

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8) This verse underscores the essential role of the Holy Spirit in empowering believers to live out their faith and testify to the truth of the Gospel.

Furthermore, Jesus emphasized the indispensability of abiding in His Word as the source of truth: "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." (John 15:7) Here, He connects the power of the Holy Spirit with the transformative impact of living according to His Word.

The combination of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God is also vital for overcoming spiritual challenges. As Paul instructs, "Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." (Ephesians 6:17) This directive equips believers with the tools necessary for defending against and defeating spiritual adversities.

At Healing Church, we teach and encourage each believer to cultivate a life that is continually filled with the Holy Spirit and deeply rooted in the truth of Scripture. This dual dependence is critical not only for personal holiness and effectiveness in ministry but also for maintaining a vibrant relationship with God.

We invite all to embrace this life of Spirit and Truth, allowing God's Word to dwell richly within us and the Holy Spirit to guide and empower us daily. Together, let us pursue the fullness of life that God intends for each of us, armed with His Word and animated by His Spirit.
