Plurality of Elders/Pastors

At Healing Church, we firmly believe in the biblical model of a Plurality of Elders/Pastors to guide our congregation. This structure not only fosters accountability and stability but also upholds our commitment to scriptural faithfulness.

"The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching." (1 Timothy 5:17) This passage underscores the importance of multiple leaders who can effectively manage and spiritually nourish the church through diverse gifts and shared responsibilities.

In addition, Acts 14:23 highlights the early church practice: "Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and prayed with fasting, committing them to the Lord in whom they had put their trust." (Acts 14:23) This approach ensures that leadership does not rest on the shoulders of a single individual but is distributed among several elders, enhancing decision-making processes and reducing the risks of leadership failures.

By adhering to this model, Healing Church aims to create a leadership structure that is robust, transparent, and deeply rooted in biblical principles. Each elder or pastor brings unique insights and spiritual gifts, contributing to a well-rounded governance body that embodies the collective wisdom and pastoral care essential for a healthy church.

"Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." (1 Peter 5:2-3) This directive guides our elders and pastors to lead with humility, integrity, and a servant's heart, ensuring that our church remains stable, accountable, and faithfully aligned with God's Word.

We invite our community to trust in and support this leadership model, as we work together to build a church that reflects God's kingdom on earth.
